A Great Walk Spoiled

Monday, June 1st, 2009 | Uncategorized | 2 Comments

dad-caseyLast night I returned to the United States and walked into a clean apartment and CURTAINS!  Thank God!  I passed out around 7 watching Slumdog Millionaire only to wake up a couple of hours later to watch Andy Samberg make the MTV Movie Awards somewhat watchable for the first time in a long time.

………….

Ireland was pretty incredible.  Beautiful country, great drinking, lovely people, and great time spent with my father and a few of his friends and their sons.  My dad’s work with professional golf has had him traveling for over 30 weeks a year ever since I have been alive.  Leaving for Nashville after college, and then to New York to continue chasing the music dream, has only given us less time together over the years, so it’s a week like this that I cherish.

We played a bunch of golf…though I wouldn’t dare call it golf…we were all pretty pathetic.  The game has often been dubbed a good walk spoiled, but at least this was a better walk than most.  Once we got over our lack of ability, we were able to take in the sights and enjoy the time together.  It was a great time and a trip I’ll always remember.

Black Pudding…

Saturday, May 30th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No Comments

We’ve just finished a 3 hour drive from the northern tip of Ireland back to Dublin….absolutely breathtaking.  One more day of green grass and Guinness before heading back to New York.

There has been a big absence of vegetables in my diet since I’ve been here….lots of meat and potatoes going around, but it’s been quite enjoyable.  The black pudding (which one Mr. Tom Hayes insisted I must have) has easily won the prize of most disgusting food I’ve ever eaten.  Oh….what is it you ask???  It’s primarily a mixture of boiled goats blood and rice.  Yes, blood…..MMMMM!  Thanks Tom!

As you may or may not know, I’m currently out of the country and drinking plenty of Guinness…straight from the source!  That’s right, I’m in Ireland with my father celebrating our heritage.  Yes, if my name or love of drinking didn’t give it away, I’m Irish…and proud of it!

Internet has been scarce, so I’m just gonna post a few pictures from the show last Friday night taken by the wonderful Paul Carter.

As you may or may not know, the June Singles show is not happening….in June that is.  Instead, we’re taking a bit extra time to promote the final singles release show which will be held in style at The Gramercy Theatre on July 11th.  Once again, we’ll play with Wakey!Wakey! and at least a couple other great acts.  please mark your calenders now…it’s sure to be a great night!
