If Kids Ruled The World…
Monday, October 19th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 2 Comments
Yesterday I had the privilege of volunteering at Liberty Residence for Women-In-Need here in Brooklyn.
The fine people at Rebel Spirit Music (Deena Goodman) asked Wes Hutchinson and I to come and talk to a class of kids about being songwriters and playing music, and we ended up writing a song with the class titled, “If Kids Ruled The World.” They are little geniuses I tell you.
.
Take a listen to the soon to be worldwide smash – “If Kids Ruled The World!”

One Last Day In London…
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No Comments
We just got checked in and through security in record time at Heathrow….now sitting with a cup of coffee and free wifi! Does it get any better!??? Now if this damn computer battery will just hold up…
Besides the ever-declining battery power of my laptop, my biggest concern right now is that I just walked into the duty free shop, and they’ve got a deal going on Bombay Sapphire….2, 1 liter bottles for 20 pounds….can I possibly pass this up?? HMMMM!!??? At least I have a bit of time to decide…..
Today we went into Central London for the first time all week, picked up one final helping of fish and chips, and did some sightseeing. I must say, as you can see, we were blessed with some incredible weather while we were here.

Christmas In June??
Monday, June 15th, 2009 | Uncategorized | 4 Comments
Something just doesn’t feel right about writing a Christmas song in the middle of June, but that’s exactly what I’m doing today. A music supervisor friend has asked Sir Wes Hutchinson and I to throw together a little number for his holiday compilation cd, and we’ve teamed up with the masterful Andy Baldwin to make this masterpiece really happen. Apparently December is right around the corner in the advertising community, and all those evil corporations around the world need holiday songs NOW!
Only problem is, how the hell do we find inspiration!??? It’s been raining for the past week, and when it hasn’t been raining, it’s been humid and sunny. To be honest, the closest I’ve come to snow as of late is frozen margaritas…hmm, that actually sounds tasty…but I digress. No one’s given me any presents lately, and I don’t know about you, but I haven’t seen a reindeer in months! Not to mention Claus, that fat bastard. (Just messing with you Santa!)
I did see a vertically challenged man earlier today on the subway, and I tried envisioning him dressed in red and green with big-pointy-curled shoes and a Santa hat, but then he caught me looking at him, and I didn’t want him to think I was some sort of freak….but I didn’t want him to think that I thought that HE was some sort of freak either….so I kept looking at him, and he at me. I just wanted him to realize I meant no harm, but there’s a small window between going from “hey, I mean no harm” to “wow, this is really awkward.” I missed said window, and sure enough, it turned into a bit of a stare off. After a few more seconds, which seemed like eons, I decided I’d be the bigger man (literally). I smiled at him and nodded my head as if to say, “hey elf man, it’s cool.” However, the smile NOR the head nod was reciprocated. Oh well…
The point is, we may be out of luck. We will have to draw on our combined years of Christmas time to get us through this session. However, I was just told by Mr. Baldwin that Christmas in Australia (his homeland) is actually during their Summer. The equivalent of say, Christmas in June…great…this is not going to help the cause……..

I’ve been running around today from rehearsals for the big Wes Hutchinson birthday show (Friday, 11pm at Rockwood) to continuing work in the studio on the next big singles release (May 22nd, 9PM at The Living Room).
So, sadly, I really don’t have much to share with you today, but I hope you all had a Happy Mother’s Day! In honor of that, I will be the millionth blog posting this video from this past weekend’s Saturday Night Live.
I know what you’re thinking, that’s pretty good…but maybe some of you remember THIS magical moment in time!
